Okay. So here is the story.

Today all the communication students attended talk about opt a major.
Well, my uni's communication separates into 3 major, which is persuasive, film and broadcasting, journalism.

Journalism, mostly about writing(of course all major need us to write a lot) but for journalism, you write more. Journalism is also about photography, cover about news in newspapers or magazines, editor and so on. The most crucial part is, this major includes a lot strict yet fierce lecturers! *shivering* Okay I admit that I am terrify to those lecturers. Seriously they are not human! *exaggerate* They are fussy, strict, demanding and I don't think I can overcome them! I am fear to them! Although I love photography, but this is different. It is not those typically or mood of taking pictures. I mean you cover a news, and you need to take crucial pictures but also encounter of disappointment because the pictures might ban or cannot publish *ahem hem* you-know-la. Recently the Bersih 3.0, the reporter's safety is not protected! They were hit and kick by you-know-I-know-who-la. The journalism's lecturer tried to bribed convinced us because there are a lot DSLR for us to use if we major in journalism lol Yet I don't really fancy about writing. Writing is killing me! I am not good in writing and all my grammar and vocabulary for 3 languages(yes including my mother tongue) are not really accurate and fascinate. Sigh. Don't know since when which languages are one of my strengthness but now become my weakness ): So, journalism is still my least interested and favourite field.

Okay. My dilemma comes here.
Persuasive or broadcasting(shorten for film and broadcasting).

Persuasive is a wide field. It is about persuading people to believe and promote for social or benefits. Which it includes public relation, advertising, corporate relation and marketing. So you know, persuade = talk. Your skills to talk is very important to convince people. Beside of talking, it is also act as a middle person. Public < persuasive > company. Seriously, I hate being in the middle. You know what I learned from the job I worked last time(Iphone's promoter), middle person is the hardest job of all. You have to listen to public, but can't disobey your company rules. It is just like a sandwich stuck in the middle and no where to go. I have to listen both sides and I can't voice my own opinion cause I don't have the power. Public and company are always right. You know, this feeling is sucks! But I have to admit, because persuasive is a wide field, there are also a lot of job opportunity out there. I mean like ALL companies need this kind of people. Everything around us about persuasion. Campaign educates us, roadshows for a product, ideas to sell, bridge to maintain company image to people etc etc. All is about persuasion. Persuade = ultimate power. Ultimately, theories are more value and only do practical things in the final year project. Undeniable, I have always wanted to do advertising until I bumped into broadcasting.

Broadcasting, whereas is a field with more technical things to learn and most important, recently years I have influenced by the media. I have exposed a lot of reality shows, breakfast shows, 8tv quickie, radio show etc etc and I found that those job is quite interesting. Not to mention, I have some favourite hosts and deejays! Besides that, short film production from local, I have officially addicted to it! The more I watch, the more I like :D They are incredibly creative and hilarious! Seriously get rid of all my stereotype before, Malaysia's film production is bad. Sorry I know I am wrong about it. If I choose to major in broadcasting, I get the chance to write scripts, learn about how to function the media(television, radio and film production) which I said before, is about technical and practical. I am those kind of person like practical more than theories. For example, photoshop. A lot of people find it is a hard tool but I think it is fun, although in the beginning I didn't really know how it functions but slowly and months of practiced, I get used to it and master some of it. Not to mention I searched tutorials in the net and also help from friends which they are more excel in photoshop. Not a amateur now yet not very excel in it, I think that there is a lot of things hidden to allow me to discover :D So broadcasting might be a good choice and lead me to the next problem.

Super_FUUU_Face

FUTURE *smack my head* What is the market now? Which people they more likely to hire? No doubt persuasive graduate have highly job opportunity than broadcasting graduate. Malaysia film and broadcast station, 10 fingers also can count all the broadcast station and the domination of prime media(media prima) and government. While film, still a newbie in the field compare to other countries. But there are veterans and seniors said that the market need a Uni's certificate only, they do not care about others than a Uni's certificate. Plus, what you study now is not what you do in the future, a lot people work outside their courses they studied in Uni.

The lecturers did advice us to choose the one you are most passionate. No passion = won't enjoy it = can't excel = lower grades = die die! But wait, I like partly for persuasive and partly for broadcasting, how to choose? The most irony matter, what the heck in the first place I choose communication? Actually I don't really know what is all about in this course. Host? Media? Reporter? I think this was what I imagined of communication. Well, I think my knowledge for communication was very little before I enrolled in. I jumped from doctor(primary school's aspiration) to hotel management course(more realistic but also not very realistic) to communication. I think the media really influences my choice! Screw me. I cannot regret cause I have been fighting for it since lower 6. And when I submitted the Uni application form I insisted to select communication in my first 3 choices although my mum wanted me to go for safe and secure courses like business and management. She always wanted to change my thoughts in taking communication. Unsafe compare to business courses which those have better job prospect and future. While my dad, I think he don't really have comments about my choice and only hope I can enter a local uni, to spend less money in uni since we are poor lol. Mum, now I know what you are worrying. Sorry for being a bad daughter. Sigh. This is my choice, nobody gonna take the blame except myself.

Yea I know I rant a lot today and I must say I wrote unexpectedly a lot than usual! Geez I am paranoid and also in a serious dilemma! 5 days before the due date to submit my form! HELP!!!! Which one should I choose??? I need some advice!!! Darn. Seriously I think I have choosing disorder T^T
